Since the Covid-19 lockdown came into effect we have spoken with more than 8,000 of our tenants to try and help them should they be experiencing difficulties in paying their rent.
For those tenants who’s income had changed under these circumstances, we have been able to offer advice and support with their finances. For tenants that were shielding or self isolating, we have helped set up alternative ways to pay.
Under normal circumstances we use a variety of ways to contact tenants regarding their rent payments. This includes the use of automated call reminders and letters for any tenant in arrears. We had stopped contacting tenants by these methods following the announcement of lockdown. This was to allow us the opportunity to focus on tenants who had seen their circumstances change because of Covid 19.
We are now resuming the automated call reminders and letters to contact tenants about any outstanding balance on their rent accounts, as this will help us to assist more tenants in these challenging times.
