An update from our Group Chief Executive – June 2025

An update from our Group Chief Executive – June 2025
At our recent Board Strategy Day, we agreed on the key priorities that will guide us through 2025/26.   Our focus remains firmly on two critical areas: investing in the quality and safety of our existing homes and delivering much-needed new homes to meet growing demand.

Last year we spent £83 million on housing repairs and building safety work – and we expect this to be a similar figure in 2025/26.    This is alongside a major £22m programme of energy efficiency work over three years, to help make homes warmer, safer and cheaper to run.   Our Healthy Homes team continues to play a vital role, helping us ensure that homes are not only well-maintained but also safe and comfortable.

We are also continuing with our development programme, and in the last financial year, we completed 828 homes for rent and shared ownership and we are currently on site with 278 new homes. By April next year, we expect to have delivered 97% of our target of building 4,000 new homes over five years.
