An Update from our Group Chief Executive – October 2024

An Update from our Group Chief Executive – October 2024

We have recently published our Tenants’ Annual Report alongside our Financial Statements 2023/24. To create the annual report, we surveyed a number of our tenants via the Jigsaw Rewards platform to gauge what you wanted to know about the Group and have included the information most requested by you.

For the first time, the report includes details of our Tenant Satisfaction Measures which show how we perform compared to other housing providers on crucial services such as repairs, building safety and complaint handling.

You can view the full report here.

As well as details about support we give to our customers – like our hardship fund or helping more people gain skills and find employment – the annual report also tells you about some of the projects awarded funding from the Jigsaw Foundation and our tenant-led scrutiny panels.

Developing new homes remains key for the Group and in 2023/24 we delivered a record number of 929 new homes, including 106 properties for sale through shared ownership.

This did not distract us from investing in our existing homes that saw £84.6 million spent on repairs to improve them.

Keeping you safe in your home

We know that keeping your home safe and healthy is a top priority for you and your family – and it’s ours too.

That’s why we’re committed to addressing any damp and mould issues as quickly as possible and have brought in new procedures to help deal with reports relating to this especially as we head towards the colder, winter months.

You can view our help and guidance on ‘safety in your home’ – including damp, mould and condensation as well as fire and gas safety, on our website here.

As always, if you do need to report a repair or issue with damp and mould, please get in touch.

From April to September 2024, across the Group, we carried out:

  • 9,287 Emergency repairs
  • 66,447 Urgent and routine / non-emergency repairs
  • 17,155 Gas safety checks
  • 3,496 PET tests

Jigsaw Foundation

Our £450,000 Jigsaw Foundation community fund once again opened for applications for funding in 2024/25.

This money is set aside for resident groups, charities, voluntary organisations and partner agencies to bid towards and make a difference to lives within their communities.

Applications with a value of £24,999 and under are voted on by tenants through our Jigsaw Rewards platform and entries over this amount are approved by Jigsaw’s executive team.

So far, we have awarded £422,000 to projects across our regions, and have £28,000 left to allocate. If you know of, or are involved with, any group or project that would benefit from funding to support your community, please visit the Jigsaw Foundation website which has all the details of eligibility and how to apply.
