Contract Success for Housing First Partnership

Contract Success for Housing First Partnership

Our Greater Manchester Housing First Partnership has been awarded a new four-year contract to continue to deliver both the GM Housing First and the GM Rough Sleepers Accommodation programmes.

More than 600 people have already been supported through the two programmes,  with over 490 people helped into their own homes. They have also facilitated the moves of another 50 people into alternative support pathways that met their current needs.

Each programme ensures people have access to quality housing across Greater Manchester and supports Greater Manchester’s Live Well agenda – a movement for community led health and wellbeing.

Following the significant achievements of each programme, executive team members from Uniting WA, a housing provider based in Perth, Western Australia, visited our Housing First team to find out about good practice across a range of homelessness services.

Jen Park and Michael Chester, CEO’s of Uniting WA, spent a day with our team and joined two home visits with Housing First workers to meet people that Housing First support in their homes.

They also visited Haven House, our Rough Sleeping Accommodation Programme accommodation in Ashton, and spoke to a resident about her experience of  the service.
