Extra Care is Outstanding

Extra Care is Outstanding

One of our Extra Care Schemes in Wigan has been rated Outstanding, following a recent visit from the Care Quality Commission.

Eliot Gardens, on Eliot Drive in Worsley Mesnes which provides accommodation and personal care for 35 residents, was inspected last year under our care team partner Bolton Cares.

The report, published in January, found the scheme to be a safe, well-run place where people get support that fits their needs and helps them stay as independent as possible.

Colleagues were described as kind, caring and well-trained, and the strong, supportive leadership creates a positive culture where everyone works together to make sure residents feel respected, valued and able to live their best lives.

To celebrate the ‘Outstanding’ rating, a party was held last week for residents, colleagues and all agencies who contributed, with a buffet, drinks and an afternoon of live entertainment from a singer.

Marcia Stock, our Head of Retirement Living for Over 55’s said:“We are really pleased with the outcome of the CQC audit. It gives reassurance to our existing and future residents that the services they receive from our care partner and our housing team are exceptional, person centred and innovative. Well done to everyone involved in this excellent achievement!”
