Half-term Help in Chorley

Half-term Help in Chorley

Residents in Chorley enjoyed some family half-term fun, thanks to the efforts of our Neighbourhood Engagement Team.

Held at the Welcome Hub in Coppull Methodist Church, a total of 15 members and their families, including grandparents caring for grandchildren during the school holidays, attended for a range of activities and all received packed lunches.

The NHS and Chorley Angels First Aid also visited the Hub, helping residents to learn about the services available to them and how to look after their health and wellbeing.

Families also had the opportunity to make and enjoy pancakes together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Our Neighbourhood Engagement Officer Tracy Townson worked closely with Chorley Council and the local partners to deliver the activities.

One resident who attends the weekly Welcome Hub said: “I look forward to the weekly visit. Lots of people come to meet up and chat. The activities are great – crafts, bingo and we learn to cook things we might make at home. Great cooked food, a warm room and friendly volunteers. Thank you, Jigsaw, and keep up the good work.”
