Pop Up Orchestra at Kendal House

Residents of the Housing for Over 55’s development Kendal House in Stalybridge were given the performance of a lifetime thanks to pop-up orchestra Manchester Camerata and children from Wild Bank Primary School.

Year 1 and Year 6 children and Manchester Camerata teamed up as part of a musical project for residents that included songs written about their lives.

One couple living at Kendal House, Mr and Mrs Ogden, were the focus of a song dedicated to their relationship that highlighted the care and support they provide each other despite Mrs Ogden’s disability.

Bethany Novak, Jigsaw’s Scheme Coordinator, said: “Our residents really enjoyed being a part of such a special musical performance and it was lovely to see different generations coming together to learn more about each other and create different musical pieces.”
