Share Your Views on New Information Rights for Social Housing Tenants

Jigsaw Homes Group is encouraging residents to share views on a new set of rules known as the Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs), following a call for feedback from The Housing Ombudsman.

STAIRs are intended to establish clearer rights for social housing tenants to request information about the management of their homes, setting out what housing associations like Jigsaw Group must disclose and how the Ombudsman will handle complaints if information is not provided fairly.

To ensure the proposals are fit for purpose, the Ombudsman is asking for feedback on three key areas: who can raise a complaint, whether the time limits for complaints are reasonable, and whether the handling of STAIRs investigations will lead to fair outcomes.

Jigsaw is encouraging all customers to take part by filling in the online survey, available on the Housing Ombudsman Service website.

The survey will be open until 17 March 2026, encouraging residents to have their say and influence how these new information rights will work in practice.

If you need any help completing the online survey, the Housing Ombudsman Service is available to assist using the contact details below:
