Tameside homes affected by storm

Tameside homes affected by storm

Following last night’s storm that hit areas of Tameside, including Stalybridge, a number of our officers have been out in the worst hit areas since early this morning, checking on the most affected properties and checking on the welfare of our residents.

Up to 100 homes may have had some sort of damage that will need repair work, with some more significant than others.

We are prioritising works to homes with major roof or structural damage first, followed by other homes with more minor damage. Damage to fences will be dealt with after these.

Please bear with us while we work through these repairs and the significant amount of work that this involves.

If you have had any damage from the storm and have not done so already, please do call on our emergency line 0161 331 2000 to report this.

Tameside Council is also providing emergency support and can be contacted on 0161 342 2222.

Local residents are urged to remain at home and to avoid the areas hit by the storm to enable the clean-up operation to progress smoothly.

Update 29 Dec 2023: Emergency repair works progressing and scaffolding erected at properties with major roof and structural damage.

These are just a few of the images taken by our officers during their inspections in the worst hit areas on 28 Dec 2023.
