In April 2025, Jigsaw Rewards members took part in our survey on Retrofit Assessments 2025.
The survey was created to assist with the ongoing retrofit assessments (RFA) to look into the energy efficiency of Jigsaw Homes’ housing stock and provide recommendations to formulate a programmed plan of works.
The survey went live on 10 April 2025 and received three hundred responses.
You Said: 85% of responses stated that they were happy for our trusted external contractor (Regen) to contact them directly to arrange their appointment.
We Did: We have provided Regen with our tenant’s email address where possible to make direct contact directly with them. Where this is not possible Regen shall use a combination of phone calls, texts and letter to contact tenants.
You Said: Tenants should be given a weeks’ notice prior to making an appointment for an assessment.
We Did: Regen have been informed of this and will have to ensure that they agree appointments with tenants and provide a week’s notice.
You Said: 94% of responses agreed that the RFA are necessary and will have a positive impact on the energy efficiency of their home. Of the 6% that disagreed, their main concern was disruption to the household.
We Did: We are working closely with contractors to ensure that disruption is kept to an absolute minimum by ensuring that we have control on how many visits and how many days are spent in each property. We are also to look at measures to ensure the least disruption but have a large impact such as loft insulation.
The survey also highlighted some further concerns of members which we hope we have addressed with the below points:
- Retrofit assessments (RFA) are assessments that are undertaken in a home that has already been built. The assessment is an in-depth survey of each property, looking at each room and area of the property. There is a potential that you may be asked a few questions as part of the survey but mainly it will entail photographs and measurements being taken.
- Letters will be sent by Jigsaw Homes to all tenants explaining what the RFA Survey entails and who will be contacting them to arrange the survey.
- All appointments will be arranged with the tenant so any planned works can be tailored around the tenant’s schedule. We shall take tenant’s needs in consideration when undertaking any works at the property.
- Works that will be carried out following the assessments will be specific to each property so we will only be able to confirm measures and timescales once the assessment has been completed.
- We want this to benefit you financially. From the assessments we are looking to ensure that the cost to the tenant does not rise and we will be monitoring this closely.
