Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Team received £900 in funding from Tameside Public Health to create a moveable piece of art with a local artist and raise cancer awareness.
Officer Minaz Aslam worked in partnership with Ashton Pioneer Homes to deliver two arts sessions which were facilitated by Paul Slater from Fabric Lenny.
A total of 10 residents attended and took part in creating artwork to help start conversations about cancer to raise awareness of signs and symptoms, early detection and screenings.
The sessions took place in St Peter’s, Ashton and food and drink were provided for those who attended. All artworks created will be used in the final art piece production.
