Netherfield Memory Café Enjoys Taste of Bakewell

Members of our Netherfield Memory Café in Nottingham enjoyed a day trip to Bakewell in the Peak District together and explored the historic town.

Organised by Martin Curtis, Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, 18 members each visited the local weekly market, shopped around the stalls and even tucked into the famous Bakewell puddings and tarts.

The memory café has run for six years on a monthly basis for people with early onset dementia and their carers at the St George’s Centre in Netherfield.

The group, which has recently been attended by an average of 25 people, offers mutual ongoing support and provides memory activities, as well as inviting relevant external speakers and performers to take part in activities.
