Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) will upgrade a significant amount of Jigsaw Group’s stock that is currently below Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band C up to that standard. It will support the installation of energy performance measures in social homes in England, and help:

  • deliver warm, energy efficient homes
  • reduce carbon emissions
  • tackle fuel poverty
  • support green jobs
  • develop the retrofit sector
  • improve the comfort, health and well-being of social housing tenants.

Wave 2 completion
Since 2022, Jigsaw has worked hard to secure funding and complete projects to better properties. To do this we have applied to the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, a grant funding available from the government in three waves.

  • In SHDF Wave 1 the team secured £427,554 grant funding
  • In SHDF Wave 2 the team secured £1,582,000 grant funding.

Wave 3 application
Jigsaw has successfully bid for Wave 3 of Warm Homes : Social Housing Fund and has secured the following funding:

  • £1,859,142 for the North region (properties eligible for this would be located in cities such as Liverpool, Chorley etc.)
  • £980,400 for the Midlands (properties eligible for this would be located near Nottingham)
  • £366,919 for the Greater Manchester region (properties eligible for this would be located in cities such as Ashton-Under-Lyne, Manchester, etc.).
The Greater Manchester region is working on a phased bid request which means we will be getting more funding approved every few months.
Who is eligible?

For a property to be eligible to receive upgrade measures it has to be at EPC D or below. The measures to be applied would then be decided based on the built specifications of the property such as type of walls, whether it has loft insulation, type of roof etc.

Regen has a tracked record of working with social housing providers on bettering their stock.

Re:Gen partnership

By the end of January 2024, RE:GEN had treated 2,500 homes with approximately 4,500 measures installed. Through our dynamic partnerships with our trusted key clients, Regen has accounted for 22% of all upgraded homes and a staggering 41% of all installed measures nationwide.

This has been achieved by working collaboratively and in partnership with our clients and key supply chain partners. Regen’s approach is to bring the residents on the journey, a goal that very much aligns with Jigsaw’s vision for sustainability.
