Two voluntary and community groups in the Midlands have been awarded funding, thanks to our Neighbourhood Engagement Team.
AC Wollaton’s ‘The Angels’, a charity football team that raises money for children who have a limited life expectancy, received £600 towards new football kits.
And more than £1,000 was given to Arnold Liberal Club for accessibility improvements, including upgrading a disabled toilet and sink and installing handrails to support disabled visitors and other club users.
Martin Curtis, our Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, coordinated the grants alongside Mick Archer, Assistant Director of Jigsaw Maintenance Midlands, using the team’s annual grant from Efficiency East Midlands.
The groups were put forward by our colleagues who had seen the important work they carry out in the community but didn’t have the resources to apply for funding themselves.
Roberto Pietraforte, a Trustee of AC Wollaton – Charity said: “Thank you so much for your kind donation. We truly appreciate your generosity – it makes such a difference.”
The grants have helped both organisations continue their valuable work supporting people in the local area.
