Residents at Eliot Gardens, Jigsaw’s Extra Care scheme in Wigan, commemorated the 80th anniversary of VE Day last week with an afternoon of celebration.
They sang along to songs from the era, and joined in with a World War Two themed quiz.
They also took part in a raffle with prizes including a dinner service set, toastie maker, floral hanging basket and men and women’s gift sets.
Lindsay Cumberbirch, Scheme Manager, also organised a buffet with sandwiches, cakes and tea. Residents all raised a cup to mark the historic moment the Second World War ended in Europe in 1945 and took a moment to remember those who had fought for their country.
