Celebrating Chorley’s Young Legends

Celebrating Chorley’s Young Legends

We were proud to have supported this year’s Inspire Awards, celebrating the incredible achievements of young people across Chorley.

Since opening its doors seven years ago, Chorley Inspire Youth Zone has celebrated thousands of young individuals through annual awards, honouring those who embraced challenges and opportunities, helped others or simply persevered through difficult times.

Jigsaw sponsored the ‘Local Legend Award’, which acknowledges an individual who engages through the youth zone’s detached programme and consistently demonstrates energy, respect and a willingness to grow.

Our Neighbourhood Engagement Officer Tracy Townson presented the award to winner Oliver Brakewell, whose hard work and commitment made him a truly deserving recipient.

Previously stuck in a challenging routine, Oliver chose to adjust his life by reconnecting with Inspire Youth Zone, taking part in mentoring sessions and even fundraising to support the organisation.

Through his strength and growth, Oliver learned to stay calm under pressure, make more positive choices and consistently show up with self-belief, showing that change is possible.

The evening, held at the Youth Zone in Chapel Street, brought together an exceptional group of nominees along with their parents and guardians, all recognised for achievements spanning several award categories.

A few talented attendees also sang at intervals during the ceremony, sharing performances that reflected the creativity and skill within Inspire Youth Zone.

Tracy said: “I had a fantastic time at the awards; it was brilliant to see so many young people doing such excellent work in the community. A huge congratulations to Oliver and to all those nominated!”
