Our Neighbourhood Engagement and Jigsaw Support Employability teams attended a jobs fair in Tameside, supporting residents to take their next steps into work.
The event, held at Dukinfield Town Hall and organised by Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills team, invited employers to help residents explore job opportunities and employment support and was open to people of all ages and experience levels.
Our teams hosted employment information stalls and spoke to around 150 people, offering CV advice, job application guidance and opportunities to register for training courses including Emergency First Aid Skills at Work and Food Hygiene Level 2.
As part of the event, information was also shared on a total of 33 live vacancies on offer and the Greater Manchester Housing Providers’ (GMHP) 20% Movement project, which focuses on encouraging more social housing residents to work in the sector.
Our Neighbourhood Engagement Officer John McGlynn said: “The event was a great opportunity to meet with prospective Jigsaw Homes employees and get the message out about all the services and support we offer locally.”
