Hoarding Peer Group Set to Move

Hoarding Peer Group Set to Move

Our Hoarders Helping Hoarders peer support group is changing location and will now be based at the Jigsaw Ashton Community Hub at Cavendish Mill in Tameside.

The group which was launched in 2022 has created a safe, supportive environment for people affected by hoarding behaviour to come together, share experiences and build confidence.

The move to our Ashton Community Hub, on Bank Street, will help to align the peer support group with other Jigsaw services and offer wider guidance and connections for residents.

Peer support plays an important role in helping people with hoarding behaviour. It gives people the opportunity to meet others who understand their experiences, reduce feelings of isolation and stigma, and share practical ideas in a non-judgemental setting.

By building trust and confidence, peer support can help people feel more able to take positive steps towards improving their wellbeing and managing their homes safely.

The group will meet once a fortnight at 1.30pm at the Jigsaw Ashton Community Hub, from Thursday 09 July.
