Residents Benefit from a Rewarding Partnership

The Jigsaw Homes Rents team partnered up with the Jigsaw Rewards team to help find volunteers and take part in a test of an amended Universal Credit process.

For a number of years, Jigsaw have worked hard to ensure the views of people claiming Universal Credit are taken into account when the DWP make changes to their systems and processes.

DWP researchers from UC Digital invited the Jigsaw Rents team to test out an amended Universal Credit process. To ensure the voices and experiences of residents were kept at the heart of testing, a survey on the Jigsaw Rewards platform called out to residents who had experience claiming Universal Credit and encouraged them to take part in the test.

The residents who volunteered visited Jigsaw’s offices in Ashton-under-Lyne and Leigh to trial the new system. Each received a £20 shopping voucher provided by the DWP researchers as a thank you for their contributions.

Stacey Gee, Senior User Researcher at UC Manchester said “Testing went really well we got some great feedback and improvements to make – thank you so much for helping us with this Jigsaw Homes!”

The updates to the portal (affecting residents where the relationship sharing a joint tenancy has broken down) will be rolled out nationally in the next few months.

Jigsaw will continue to work with DWP researchers and other partner agencies to provide a voice to residents and ensure they can have their say on the topics that matter to them.
