Residents across our communities enjoyed some fun-filled Easter activities over the school half term, thanks to our Neighbourhood Engagement Team.
In Ashton-under-Lyne, Neighbourhood Engagement Officer Minaz Aslam supported the Lindley Educational Trust in delivering a two-week Fast Club at Holy Trinity Primary School, encouraging children to be more active and build confidence.
A total of 60 pupils took part in a range of activities funded by the Holiday Activities and Food programme, including multisport sessions, fun days and outdoor adventure activities. Each child was also treated to an Easter egg.
Families in Dukinfield came together at the Dukinfield Hub to enjoy some spring-themed arts and crafts, along with an exciting outdoor egg hunt with the Easter Bunny.
In Stalybridge, families got involved in a hedgehog house-making session organised by Ridgehill Together, with our Neighbourhood Engagement Team providing a total of 40 Easter-themed gift bags, including a book, stickers and a chocolate egg for each child.
Neighbourhood Engagement Officer Vikki Fitzpatrick also donated more than 30 gift bags to The Bread and Butter Thing, which redistributes surplus food to families in need.
At the Welcome Hub in Coppull Methodist Church, Chorley, 22 members took part in an Easter bonnet competition, made nest cakes and enjoyed a raffle, with all children receiving a mixed fruit bag and an Easter egg.
One resident said: “I couldn’t have come to a better hub; everyone was so friendly and the children enjoyed it so much! Thank you!”
