Our Bridges team is once again supporting the ’16 Days of Action’ campaign , which focuses on encouraging men to take a stand against violence and abuse towards women and girls.
Running from today, 25 November to 10 December, the campaign aims to address the attitudes and behaviours that contribute to a fear of violence for women in their day-to-day lives.
This year’s theme, #WeSpeakUp, is a call to action for men to realise that seemingly harmless actions such as sexist jokes, catcalling, staring, and comments can lead to violence and abuse. The campaign aims to empower men to become allies in the efforts to reduce harmful behaviour.
Throughout the 16 days, our Bridges team will be sharing information on social media channels using the hashtag #16DaysofAction.
Events planned this year include stalls to promote awareness at Hyde shopping precinct, Hyde Football Club and in Tesco in Hattersley.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, contact the Bridges team in confidence on 0161 331 2552, email bridges@jigsawhomes.org.uk, or visit the website here>>.
