Training and Job Support in Chorley

Training and Job Support in Chorley

Residents across Chorley have received support with training and finding work, thanks to our Neighbourhood Engagement and Jigsaw Support Employability teams.

Around 10 volunteers took part in Level 2 Food Safety training at Clayton Brook Community Centre in Bamber Bridge, to help build confidence and develop practical skills in their roles.

The training covered essential skills and knowledge needed to handle, prepare, and cook food, while giving attendees the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from one another.

Our Jigsaw Employment Team (JET) team worked closely with SVP Chorley Buddies to deliver the course, with each volunteer receiving an accredited qualification to support them.

One volunteer, Nicole said: “This was a great refresher, and I really enjoyed the course!”

Officer Tracy Townson also attended two job fairs held at Chorley Job Centre and Leyland Job Centre, organised by Chorley Council and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to bring providers and employers together to support residents back into work.

Around 40 residents were provided with one-to-one advice on skills, job searching and training opportunities.
