Residents volunteering at a historic coal mine café in Nottinghamshire are celebrating after successfully completing their Level 2 Food Hygiene training.
Delivered at the Dynamo Café in Bestwood, the training equipped 17 volunteers with essential knowledge to support their roles running the café at weekends, where they serve hot drinks and a selection of homemade cakes to visitors.
During the course, participants learned about food safety responsibilities, how to prevent cross-contamination and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene in the workplace and at home.
The training, delivered in partnership with our Jigsaw Employment Team, not only helps ensure visitors can enjoy a welcoming experience at the café but gives volunteers greater confidence in their roles.
The qualification has also opened up new opportunities for participants by providing future training opportunities and pathways to paid employment within hospitality, catering and customer service sector.
Residents said: “The presentation was perfectly delivered in a calm and professional manner with no difficulties in understanding.”
