Building the Future with Our Apprentices

Today is the start of National Apprenticeship Week (8-14 February) and the theme for this year is “Build the Future”

The aim is to encourage everyone to consider how apprenticeships help individuals to build the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career.

To support National Apprenticeship Week 2021, Jigsaw is part of a whole range of training providers, organisations, individuals and communities getting involved, to celebrate apprenticeships and how they are key to a successful future workforce.

With just under 50 apprentices across the Group, ranging from the ages of 21 to 53, we are able to offer opportunities for people to begin or advance their careers through learning and practical skills.  We work with training service providers to guide people through their courses and gain qualifications, even online as has been the case with those studying this year.  Lockdown has not stopped many of our colleagues qualifying, including several with Distinction.

Across Jigsaw we offer a diverse range of apprenticeship opportunities, ranging from working in customer services (within our contact centre) to trade apprenticeships.

The apprenticeship programmes range from 18 months to four years in length – dependent on the role.

Throughout the programme, apprentices will enjoy a bespoke development plan – tailored to the individual and the role, there are clear milestones, regular feedback and positive mentoring. The success of this approach has been proven time and time again.

Apprentices often become role models for others within the business, growing in self-confidence and developing their skills in a fast-paced environment.  For more information please see our Careers page.
