Children at Killisick Junior School in Nottingham celebrated their traditional harvest festival with a food collection and donated lots of goods to our community grocer.
The school hosted a special assembly and invited Asmina Choudhury, our Neighbourhood Engagement Officer, to join local families and watch the children sing songs in celebration.
They donated lots of dry foods, tins and toiletries to our community grocer which is based at the Killisick Community Centre in Arnold and runs every Friday from 1pm – 2.30pm.
Asmina also shared information about the food grocer to families, helping them learn about the health and wellbeing support available in the community, including our JET employment training programmes.
One parent said: “This service will help us a lot. We have a large family, and I feel we will really benefit from it.”
