Tameside Jobs Fair

Our Neighbourhood Engagement Team attended Tameside Jobs Fair, helping local people find their footing onto the employment ladder.

Officers Carolyn Alston, Gemma Batchelor, Joanne Shaw and Marie Clegg hosted an information stall at the event, which took place at Dukinfield Town Hall.

They spoke to around 190 attendees and shared current vacancies at Jigsaw Homes and raised awareness of the 20% Movement initiative which encourages more social housing residents to work in the housing sector.

The team also shared the qualifications available with JET, highlighted our business start-up courses and provided practical support to job seekers, including CV writing tips.

The event was organised by Employment and Skills at Tameside Council with different employers and support services attending, also offering guidance to attendees.

Callum Garlick, the event organiser from Tameside Council, said: “I wanted to extend a big thank you to Jigsaw Homes for being part of another successful Tameside Jobs Fair.

“Your presence was hugely appreciated, and we’ve already received very positive feedback from job seekers, employers, and providers. It’s fantastic to know that together we’re helping connect people with new opportunities that support your business and strengthen the local job market.”
