One of our Apprentice Joiners in Tameside has been nominated for a national award in recognition of her exceptional progress.
Olivia Williams has been shortlisted for ‘Outstanding Achievement by an Apprentice’ at the Housing Heroes Awards – part as the Women in Housing Awards.
The awards, which will take place Monday 22 May at Manchester Central, recognise the outstanding achievements, innovation and leadership of individuals across the UK social housing sector.
Since beginning her joinery apprenticeship with us in 2024, Olivia has been studying carpentry and joinery at Tameside College and is progressing well towards completing her endpoint assessment.
Olivia said: “I am incredibly proud and grateful to be nominated for a Housing Heroes Award.
“Working as an apprentice joiner at Jigsaw Homes has been a rewarding journey, and this recognition means a great deal to me.
“It reflects not only the skills I’ve developed, but also the support, guidance, and encouragement I’ve received from my colleagues and mentors along the way.
“I am passionate about the work I do, taking pride in improving homes and making a positive difference for residents, and this award motivates me to keep learning, growing, and striving for excellence in my trade.”
Tamla Etchells, Olivia’s manager added: “As her manager, she is a joy to manage, nothing phases her and she just gets stuck in.”
This latest nomination follows Olivia’s recent success winning ‘Apprentice of the Year’ at the Train Tameside awards earlier this year.
